Assessor
It looks like winter has made its appearance here early this year. Along with winter comes the time for exemption renewal. All renewal application forms will be mailed by December 10th and will be due back to the Assessor by March 1, 2020. Senior Enhanced STAR people will NOT need to renew that exemption any longer – NYS Dept of Tax and Finance will notify you if they need more information.
If you will be turning 65 during 2020, you may be eligible to apply for a Senior Enhanced Star exemption (only if you currently have a Basic Star exemption!). You will need to apply for that (one time only!) in the Assessor’s office by March 1, 2020. Applications can be obtained at Town Hall in front of the Assessor’s office. We are conducting an update for the valuation of our Residential properties in the Town/Village of Granville in order to maintain our 100% level of assessment. Now is the time, if you have a question regarding your property and its assessment, to come in and meet with the Assessor so that, if necessary, changes can be made to the 2020 assessment roll. Questions or concerns regarding your property can be directed to the Assessor’s office. The office is open Mondays from 8:00 am – Noon, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM. You may also contact the assessor via email at granvilleassessor@gmail.com or leave a telephone message at (518)642-1500, ext. 6. Victoria L. Hayner, IAO Assessor |
